We had another wonderful 4th of July Camp Out again this year...our 2nd annual one! It's our new tradition that Kenny started last year so he could get out of going to the Parade and having to spend the night trying to save seats for everybody! I have to admit...it's a much better tradition to have our Camp Outs! We do miss seeing the others that came after we had saved them seats, but hopefully we'll continue to see them later at the Cabin for lunch and games! But

this year, we didn't just have a one nighter camp out...we stayed two nights and

loved it! Everyone came on Thursday night to Grammie & Grandpa's back yard and set up their tents, picking out their spot and then we had a wonderful [at least Dad & I thought it was] mystery visitor from the past... King David Benjamin came to talk to us all from up on his high tower and remind us, while we had our tents facing the Temple, things each family needed to remember and strive hard to work on! [You always have to have a LITTLE bit of spirituality in all your fun gatherings!] Then we

had a hilarious dance on the sport court and Tutu had a ball watching all of us, wishing she cou

ld get out there and show us all how to really "cut the rug" ! Then we had a picture show, as Tutu would say, on our big huge sheet we set up outside on the wall, using Nate's computer and speakers...we watched National Treasure 2. We all ate treats and laughed and had fun together! Next morning, Kenny & Diana made us the best breakfast ever, cooking outside and having all kinds of yummy things. We didn't end up going up to the Cabin with others, so stayed in our back yard playing water games and having 3 legged races, and relaxing on the 4th. That night, after a lot of naps, we had tin foil dinners and dutch oven peach cobblers and then did all our fireworks! We then watched our 2nd '

picture show' of Nacho Libre and laughed till we cried! It was fun sleeping out under the stars that we could see through the roof of our tents and listening to the crickets. The next day, we all slept in and then woke up to some more yummy leftover breakfast that Grammie cooked this time and then started cleaning up. We sat around for a little and then started helping everyone put their tents away for another year! It was a delightful time though had by all! And I was sad to see it all come to an end...I just love having most of all my children and grandbabies [we missed Angie, Damon & Paige] here with us! Sadly, this ended up being Tutu's
last 4th of July with us all, too...
